The fifth annual DJ Reader High School Football Jamboree featured area football powerhouses in scrimmage action. The jamboree convened Friday, Aug. 16, at Grimsley High School’s Jamieson Stadium and featured three varsity scrimmages lasting an hour and a half each. The Ragsdale Tigers defeated the Blue Comets of Asheboro, 21 to 14 in game one. In game two, the host school, Grimsley Whirlies, tied the Blue Devils of Mooresville at seven all. The final varsity game showcased action between the Vikings of Northwest Guilford and the Oak Grove Grizzlies, with the Vikings coming out on top, six to zero.
