Posted

Hey Greensboro, there’s a new bank in town. Huntington Bank celebrated its expanding regional footprint with a community event highlighting its local leadership, rapid growth across the Carolinas, and a $10,000 charitable donation to the Women’s Resource Center of Greensboro.

Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, and founded in 1866, “Huntington Bancshares Incorporated is a $285 billion asset regional bank holding company. As the 10th largest bank in the country, Huntington operates over 1,400 branches across 21 states, offering comprehensive banking, wealth management, and financial services to consumers, businesses, and municipalities.”

Deep Roots and Rapid Carolinas Expansion

During a reception at the Women’s Resource Center of Greensboro, Chris Bryan, president of Huntington Bank’s Triad market welcomed guests in attendance.

Reflecting on the journey to establish a home for the bank in the Gate City, bank representative Louis Moore said, “To bring Huntington here—I’m almost three years in as a consultant to help bring the bank to the Carolinas and have a home here in Greensboro—I’m really excited.”

The event spotlighted Huntington’s investment in the region. Across North and South Carolina, the bank plans to hire more than 350 employees across multiple business lines and open approximately 55 retail branches over the next few years.

Four Seasons Branch Manager James Williams introduced team members from the Four Seasons location at 1401 Four Seasons Station Drive, and the upcoming Lawndale branch, noting that the Four Seasons staff has already achieved 150 percent of their target performance metrics shortly after opening.

Tim Noble, Greensboro resident and senior financial relationship manager at the Four Seasons branch said, “As the bank opens additional branches throughout the city, triad and state, there will be opportunities for employment, financial literacy, workshops and community partnerships. All of these activities will help foster and cultivate economic growth.”

According to bank leadership, Huntington Bank currently has 11 branches open in the Carolinas. Its next branch at Pisgah Church and Lawndale is currently under construction with another branch in High Point coming soon.

Community Impact and Economic Momentum

The gathering culminated in a $10,000 check presentation to the Women’s Resource Center of Greensboro.

Audrey Amos, director of programs for the center said, “For 31 years, we’ve empowered thousands of women with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to navigate life’s challenges—all completely free.”

Greensboro Chamber of Commerce President Brent Christensen welcomed Huntington, emphasizing how major industrial projects—such as Toyota, Boom Supersonic, and JetZero—have driven a surge of regional growth.

“Success births more success,” Christensen said. “Because of that success, we get strong financial institutions like Huntington Bank that see us, want to be a part of that success, and want to be a part of our community.”

Christensen also commended Guilford County Board of Commissioners Chairman Melvin “Skip” Alston and Carlvena Foster for fostering a supportive environment for business development.

Additionally, Janet Sheppard, president of Davie Construction (the general contractor for the Four Seasons branch), announced that Davie will sponsor a renovation of the Serenity Room and Children’s Room at the Women’s Resource Center facility.

Senior Managing Director Ben Stites and the Huntington team formally recognized members of their Founders Circle—local business leaders who supported the bank’s entry into the Triad market: Anthony & Linda Hopkins (Hopkins Services); Jayesh & Ritaben Patel (CN Hotels); Herbert Parks, Greensboro National Golf Club; Heather Rouse, WXTITE, LLC.; Dr. Gary McKeel; and Patrick Donnelly with Byron Donnelly Development.

The ceremony concluded with an invitation for community members to attend a fellowship gathering at the Four Seasons office ahead of the Wyndham Championship to experience the branch’s new interactive AI kiosk technology.
