Hundreds of families gathered at the First Horizon Coliseum’s Special Events Center for the Third Annual HBCU College Fair, a vibrant event designed to connect students with the legacy and opportunities of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Organized by the educational support group shift_ed, in partnership with Guilford County Schools, College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC), and Mount Zion Baptist Church, the fair welcomed students in grades 8–12 from across the region. Attendees met with admissions representatives from 13 HBCUs across the South, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest, gaining critical information on scholarships, financial aid and campus life.
The event kicked off with a powerful rendition of “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing” sung by the James B. Dudley High School Harmonizers. Beyond the college booths, two dozen community organizations and members of the Divine Nine sororities and fraternities were on hand to offer mentorship and guidance.
