The Whirlies of Grimsley High School put forth a valiant effort to make their 11-game winning streak number 12 against the South Iredell Vikings. The Vikings defeated the Whirlies by a score of 3-1 on Friday, May 9, on the Whirlies’ home turf. The Whirlies saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grimsley junior Max Snyder, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. The Whirlies dropped their record down to 23-5, while the Vikings’ record stands at 20-8 after having now won four of their last five games.
