Annually, community and civic leaders visit Guilford County Schools (GCS), serving as Principals for a Day. Throughout Guilford County elementary, middle and high schools, more than 100 participants shadowed principals, visiting classrooms, engaging in activities and meeting with teachers and staff members to process what they observed.
Principal for a Day is an interactive project of the Guilford Education Alliance (GEA). This year GEA’s new President Dr. Zitty Nxumalo joined former teacher and Allen Tate Realtor Wayne Young at Bessemer Elementary School, Greensboro, where they shadowed GCS Principal of the Year Dr. Jonathan Brooks.
