Northwest Vikings shutout Smith, 35-0

Junior running back Kyle Finne and freshman wide receiver Cameron Cloud each scored twice as the Northwest Vikings rolled over the Smith Eagles, 35-0 Friday night.

It was the season opener for both teams.

Junior Thomas Hennigan’s 26-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Jake Smith capped a 12-play scoring drive for the Vikings with 8:58 remaining in the first quarter, Early in the second quarter receiver Cloud caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Smith, giving the Viking a 14-0 lead. Smith played well for Northeast going 22-of-31 for 208-yards and three touchdowns.
Three second half touchdowns put the game away for Northwest. The only negative for the Vikings was 12 penalties and Hennigan had three touchdowns called back for penalties.

The Eagles were held to just 46 yards of offense and without a first down during second half play.
