SE Guilford beats Ragsdale, 42-7

The Southeast Falcons took the opening kickoff against the
Ragsdale Tigers marching 75-yards down the field in 18 plays
for a first quarter score. The Falcons would defeat the
Tigers, 42-7 to take the Friday night win.
Senior running back Shakir Turner finished the first drive
with a one-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion was good
and the Falcons led 8-0 with 3:44 remaining in the first
Turner’s night was just beginning after the first drive. He
rushed 17 times for 201 yards and three touchdowns.
Ragsdale’s offensive highlight was quarterback Alec Cobb
connecting with Jerry Gaither on a 76-yard touchdown pass late
in the second quarter closing the deficit to 14-7.
Southeast added two more touchdowns before the half to lead
The Falcons’ offensive line dominated the smaller Tigers. Nine
different backs rush for yards including Khaleed Boswell who
rushed for 99-yards and a touchdown.
With the successes of their running game the Falcons only
threw eight passes. Quarterback Bubba Craven did have one 18-
yard touchdown pass to Greg Liggs in the fourth quarter.
Craven also ran six times for 45 yards and one touchdown.
The Southeast defense also did its part allowing two first
downs. In fact, during the first half, the only first down
came on the Tigers’ first play from scrimmage.
Southeast Guilford improved to 4-0 on the season while
Ragsdale’s record fell to 1-4.
